Will the Edsa Two forces also apologize to former President Joseph Estrada for staging the Edsa Two? We don’t think so. It is historical judgment by the people, and was confirmed years later by the guilty verdict of plunder of Estrada.
Is former President Corazon Aquino really sincere in apologizing to former President Joseph Estrada in her role in Edsa Two? She is issuing the statement to show President Macapagal Arroyo of her wrongdoings during the present administration. During Edsa Two, she only called for Erap’s ouster, but if she only joined the “Resign All” call of Sanlakas, Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP), Kongreso ng Pagkakaisa ng mga Maralita ng Lunsod (KPML), and our allied organizations, she might not issue an apology to Estrada because of Arroyo.
Furthermore, if Aquino is really sincere, we suggest that she also apologize to the whole nation for many peasants killed during the Mendiola massacre in 1987, and the massacre of trade union workers in Hacienda Luisita in 2004.
In the same way, former President Joseph Estrada must also apologize to the Filipino people for he was guilty of plundering the nation, but days later were pardoned by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Estrada should also apologize to the workers, including Philippine Airlines Employees Association (PALEA), where he sided with Lucio Tan to suspend by ten years the collective bargaining agreement between the PAL management and PALEA.
Cory and Erap are hypocrites, because what they did are understandable for they are of the same league of elite and landlord class, who are enemies of the masses and the working class.
